Global IME Bank Launches AI-ML Hackathon 2026 to Foster Banking Innovation

Global IME Bank has launched the second edition of its AI-ML Hackathon 2026 to encourage innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning for Nepal's banking sector. The two-phase residential competition features 14 selected teams comprising students, startups, developers, engineers, data scientists, and researchers.

Participants will compete through a 36-hour coding challenge followed by an onsite hackathon, presenting technology-driven solutions to make banking services more secure, efficient, and user-friendly.

Chief Executive Officer Surendra Raj Regmi said the initiative would help identify future digital banking solutions and address industry challenges, adding that winning teams will receive cash prizes and opportunities for professional collaboration with the bank. Global IME Bank highlighted its continued commitment to technological innovation and its nationwide banking network spanning all 77 districts.
