Global IME Bank, IME Group support Rs 2m to PM Disaster Relief Fund

KATHMANDU, Aug 27:

Global IME Bank and IME Group have provided financial assistance to the victims of recent flood and landslide incidents across the country.

According to the press statement of the bank, chairman of the bank and group Chandra Prasad Dhakal handed over a check of Rs 2 million to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala for the Prime Minister´s Natural Disaster Relief Fund amid a ceremony held at Prime Minister official residence Baluwatar on Wednesday.

Bank´s Deputy CEO Janak Sharma Poudyal and IME Group CEO Suman Pokhrel were also present there. Out of the total support, bank´s staff have contributed their half day´s salary of Rs 500,000 while the bank has provided Rs 600,000.

Likewise, IME Group has contributed Rs 900,000 to the relief fund.

Dhakal said that the bank and the group have been extending its helping hands to the victims of various disasters as part of companies´ corporate social responsibility. “Our support to the government is for coping with natural calamities that the country has faced in recent days.
