Gionee launches 'world's slimmest phone'

KATHMANDU, Dec 17 :
Gionee has launched Elife S5.1, which has been billed the world´s slimmest phone, in the Nepali market.
Teletalk, the authorized dealer of Gionee in Nepal, launched Elife S5.1 and Marathon 3 (M3) amid a program on Tuesday. Wyn Qi, Gionee´s overseas department sales manager and Sanjay Agarwal, CEO of Teletalk launched the phones.
“Elife S5.1 is the world´s slimmest phone. We have developed a technology that can make a phone very slim and at the same time stylish with attractive features," Qi said.
Elife S5.1 sports a 4.8-inch AMOLED display that gives highly vibrant color display and interesting visual experience. The narrow (1.8 mm) bezel offers users a bigger display.
The phone is powered by octa-core 1.7 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. It has 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP back camera and 5 mp front camera with lot of fun modes for an enhanced and enjoyable experience, including beauty mode that enables users to do their ´make-up´ after taking a picture.
The phone has lot of built-in apps like Fake Call and interesting features like On The Go (OTG) mode, data transfer service (DTS) mode, Flip Alarm and Wet Hand mode, among others. The phone is available at Rs 29,995.
Teletalk plans to sell around 5,000 units of Elife S5.1 within three months of the launch.
Likewise, the other phone Gionee M2 uses a 5,000 mAh battery which gives the phone a long battery life. The company claims that the phone gives 33.7 hours of talk time and 32.8 days of standby time. “With long battery life, this phone is the best for a country like ours with lengthy power cuts," added Agarwal.
The phone has quad core 1.3 Ghz processor, 5-inch HD display, DTS sound, 8 MP back camera and 2 MP front cameras with interesting features such as V-gesture and Smile mode that enables user to take pictures without touching the handset.
"This phone is a must as it comes with an innovative feature called OTG Reverse Charge which can be used to recharge other smartphones and tablets as an external charger,” said Qi.
Features like OTG Data Transfer, Hot Knot that enables transfer of data by touching screens of two Hot Knot enabled phones, and Black Screen Gesture Control make M3 a unique mobile handset that understands and caters to the need of its customers, according to the company officials.
Gionee M3 costs Rs 19,995.
