The government of Gandaki Province has successfully passed its appropriation bill for the fiscal year 2083/84 following a majority vote in the Provincial Assembly, paving the way for the implementation of its annual budget and development programs for the upcoming fiscal year.

The appropriation bill, presented by Minister for Economic Affairs Jit Bahadur Sherchan, received formal approval during the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Sunday after lawmakers completed discussions on ministerial budget allocations and expenditure priorities.

Earlier on June 15, Minister Sherchan had unveiled a total provincial budget of Rs 32.99 billion, outlining the government’s financial priorities and development agenda for fiscal year 2083/84. The budget focuses on infrastructure development, public service delivery, economic growth, and strengthening provincial governance mechanisms.

During the Assembly session, Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey assured lawmakers and stakeholders that the provincial government has prepared a practical and implementation-oriented budget based on available resources and realistic planning.

Addressing concerns regarding budget execution, Chief Minister Pandey emphasized that the government has secured adequate financial resources to ensure effective implementation of all planned programs in the upcoming fiscal year. He stated that there would be no shortage of funds and reiterated the government’s commitment to translating budget commitments into tangible development outcomes.

“The budget has been prepared in a realistic manner with careful consideration of implementation capacity. We have ensured that resources are available, and there will be no shortage in executing the programs outlined for the fiscal year 2083/84,” Chief Minister Pandey said during the meeting.

With the passage of the appropriation bill, the Gandaki Provincial Assembly has formally cleared the government’s spending framework, enabling the province to move forward with its development plans and policy implementation agenda for the new fiscal year.
