Free Vehicle Emission Testing Event in Chandragiri Municipality Aims to Combat Air Pollution
A two-day free vehicle emission testing event took place near Tribhuvan Park in Chandragiri Municipality on May 29th and 30th, organized by Chandragiri Municipality in partnership with USAID Clean Air. Of the 100 vehicles tested, 56 passed and received Green Stickers, symbolizing compliance with emission standards.
Mayor Ghanashyam Giri and Deputy Mayor Bashanti Shrestha stressed the significance of such initiatives in reducing air pollution.
USAID Clean Air reiterated its commitment to supporting Nepal's pollution control efforts, with Chief of Party Bhushan Tuladhar emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly practices.
DSP Surya Prakash Subedi praised the event's impact and advocated for a dedicated testing laboratory. This initiative highlighted the importance of regular emissions testing in promoting public health and a sustainable urban environment. Ongoing collaboration and community involvement were identified as key to achieving positive environmental outcomes.
