Fonepay Surpasses 1 Million Cross-Border UPI Transactions, Strengthening Regional Digital Integration

Fonepay, Nepal’s leading digital payment network, has crossed a major milestone by processing over 1 million cross-border UPI transactions, valued at more than NPR 2 billion. This achievement showcases the growing adoption of real-time, secure, and seamless digital payments by Indian travelers in Nepal.
Indian users are increasingly using UPI-enabled apps to make payments simply by scanning Fonepay QR codes, reflecting strong trust in the interoperable system.
With over 100,000 merchants across all 77 districts, top-performing sectors include restaurants, grocery stores, and hotels, especially in Kathmandu, Kaski, and Kailali.
Fonepay CEO Diwas Kumar emphasized this as a testament to regional digital integration and user confidence. As a subsidiary of F1Soft Group and licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, Fonepay continues to drive innovation in digital finance and aims to enhance the cross-border payment experience further.
