FM Pun optimistic on economy
KATHMANDU, MAY 21:
Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has said most of the government targets will be fulfilled as the economy in the current fiscal year is in a positive direction.
Assuming office after his reappointment in the post at Finance Ministry in Singha Durbar today, he said targeted revenue will be collected in the current fiscal year and the development expenditure will be given impetus until July.
The country's economy is on the correct path, he said, adding all our economic activities will move ahead if the index of the economy is to remain correct.
Budget formation is in progress as per the timetable of the ministry and National Planning Commission and will come by last week of Asar, he said.
Petroleum price will be addressed in policy in the new budget and the ministry had accepted the compulsion not to spoil the political stability because of the petroleum price, but the grant and loan will not make do all the time, he said.
