FM Pun affirms commitment on peace‚ development
KATHMANDU:
Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has said that the government is committed to peace, constitution, providing relief to the people and accelerating development.
During his meeting with the local representatives of foreign donor agencies in Nepal on Monday, the Finance Minister pledged to move ahead by taking the bodies concerned into confidence.
The meeting focused on the budget that was approved by the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday.
He said the government has adopted the 'zero tolerance policy' towards corruption.
On the occasion, the Finance Minister expressed gratitude to the donor agencies for their sympathy to the loss of lives and property in the earthquake that was recorded in the country on Sunday evening.
Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri apprised the participants of meeting of the priorities set by the Commission while Finance Secretary Krishnahari Baskota shed light on the guidelines related to the nation's present economic condition, the budget passed by the Legislature-Parliament recently and the government immediate relief package.
On the occasion, the donor agencies' local representatives inquired about the several issues relating to the regional development, implementation and monitoring the development projects, good governance and the millennium development goals (MDGs), among others.
