Flood Disrupts Narayangadh-Butwal Road Section, Heavy Vehicles Stranded

The Narayangadh-Butwal road section along the East-West Highway has been completely obstructed after a flood-swollen rivulet swept away a diversion near Dumkibas on Thursday morning.

According to the District Police Office, the flood in the Biyani Rivulet washed away the temporary diversion, resulting in the complete disruption of vehicular movement on the busy highway.

Madhu Nepal, Information Officer at the Nawalpur Police Office, stated that heavy and loaded vehicles have been halted at Hongshi Gate and Arunkhola areas following the collapse of the diversion. "It will take time to restore the road to full operation," he added, indicating that road repair and restoration efforts may be delayed due to the extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, authorities have managed to reroute passenger and light vehicles through alternative routes to minimize inconvenience for commuters.

The Narayangadh-Butwal section is a crucial part of Nepal's transportation network, and the disruption has affected cargo movement and travel across several districts in the region. Police and local authorities are currently coordinating to manage traffic and assess the damage.
