Sanima Mai Hydropower Limited has resumed operations of its two hydropower projects that were disrupted by flood and landslide damage caused by continuous rainfall on Ashwin 18, 2082 BS.
According to the company, the natural disaster had affected key structures in the headworks area of the Mai Hydropower Centre (22 MW) and the Mai Cascade Plant (7 MW), forcing a temporary halt in electricity generation.
The company completed repair, maintenance, and testing of damaged components, including the headrace culvert and flushing chamber. Following successful restoration work, both hydropower plants have now come back into operation, and the previously declared special circumstances have officially ended.
Sanima Mai Hydropower stated that the restoration was carried out promptly to ensure reliable power generation and minimize disruption to the energy supply.
