Five members have been appointed to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) through an open and competitive selection process.

The newly appointed board members are Khum Bahadur Subedi, Santosh Pokharel, Shrijana KC, Pemba Sherpa, and Dr. Shobhita Shrestha Dhakal.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation announced that the appointments were made following a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a selection committee. Formed under the Tourism Act, the committee assessed applicants based on their professional expertise, academic qualifications, contributions to the tourism sector, and leadership capabilities.

A total of 1,100 candidates from across the country had applied for the positions.

The open competition was introduced to enhance transparency in the appointment process while supporting tourism destination development, policy formulation, investment promotion, and stronger public-private collaboration.

The government expects the experience and leadership of the newly appointed board members to contribute significantly to the sustainable growth and long-term development of Nepal's tourism industry.
