Five enterprises awarded

KATHMANDU, March 29:

ChangeFusion Nepal has awarded Third Surya Nepal Social Entrepreneurship Award (SNSEA) 2013 to five entrepreneurs.

The award was announced and conferred on the winners Friday amid a function at Hotel Yak and Yeti in the capital.

Those winning the awards are from agriculture, women empowerment, environment and healthcare fields.

Dipak Prasad Acharya for his Junar Kendriya Sahakari Sangh, Fulmaya Tamang for Bhattendanda Women Farmers Cooperative and Madhukar KC bagged the SNSEA award. Likewise, Prem Bahadur Lama and Suman Shakya of Ashapuri Organic Farm and SmartPaani projects respectively were also felicitated with the SNSEA award.



Similarly, Dr Sanduk Ruit and team from the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology were also specially recognised by SNSEA award at the function.

According to the organizers, the ten finalists were selected by a jury panel from among forty shortlisted applications after the evaluation of a panel of experts from a pool of 119 applicants from 40 districts.
