KATHMANDU, DEC 17 -
Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) shares were traded for the first time in the secondary market on Sunday since being re-listed last week. As many as 11,000 units of NBL shares , owned by Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank, were traded on the opening day, according to a Nepse source. However, the selling of those shares on Sunday was just a formality as they were supposed to be traded in the over the counter market.
“Having been listed on Nepse, those shares could not be sold in the OTC. Therefore they were sold through brokers on Sunday,” said the Nepse source. The central bank directive prevents banks and financial institution to maintain crossholding.
