First ever all in-App beauty pageant– MISS UNIVERSE NEPAL 2020 to take place soon
Ma Nepalí Ltd., the new long-term franchisee of the Miss Universe Organization in Nepal, founded by Miss Universe Nepal 2017, Nagma Shrestha and co-founded by CG Corp Global, Nepal's only Multi-Billion Dollar Multinational Conglomerate, is breaking new ground as they hosted an all-digital press conference to announce the first ever all in-App beauty pageant– MISS UNIVERSE NEPAL 2020.
The digital event saw participation from Mr. Rahul Chaudhary, MD & CEO of CG Corp Global and leading veterans from the Miss Universe Organization, as well as celebrities supportive of Nagma’s Brave, Bold and Beautiful vision for the empowerment of Nepali women, including:
- Miss Universe2019, Zozibini Tunzi
- Miss Universe Nepal 2018, Manita Devkota
- Superstar singer, Indira Joshi
The event was also graced by, Ma Nepali Creative Director Ms. Anusha Peterson, who spoke about the initiative Miss Universe Nepal App and the coach behind many superstar contestant winners, Mr. Jonas Gaffud. The press conference was moderated by Ms. Presca Udas.
The twin motivations for Ma Nepali to hold the first ever all in-App beauty pageant are:
- Contestant and fan safety during the COVID-19 pandemic and
- The democratization of beauty – enabling young people with Nepal in their hearts to compete wherever they are and whatever their economic circumstance, transforming participation in the contest from being the privilege of the few to be the opportunity of many.
Nagma shares: “Brave, Bold, Beautiful- That’s what Nepali women are to me. Ever since I was 7 years old, I dreamt of competing in pageants. I was proud to represent Nepal at the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas. Today, I am the National Director of the Miss Universe Nepal. Dreams can come true. And I want to ensure that all young Nepali women have the same opportunity I had and that, win or lose, we build pride in ourselves and in the country we represent.”

The Ma Nepali, Miss Universe Nepal 2020 App, will be available in the App store and Google play from mid-July.
Once available, the App --- which is being developed right here in Kathmandu --- will bring deserved attention to the confidence and beauty of Nepali women, and the dexterity of our technology sector, with it in itself a first.
