First Day of Week, NEPSE Nosedives 41.43 Points With Significant Market Participation

The NEPSE index closed at 2,572.23 today after losing 41.43 points from last trading day's closing. The index had lost 16.69 points last Thursday.

The index opened at 2,623.20 today and made the intraday high at 2,641.51. However, it couldn't sustain the rise, and the index kept falling from there. While it went as low as 2,569.02, it ultimately closed at 2,572.23.

232 scrips traded hands via 62,164 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 8,923,014 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 4.989 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than last Thursday's turnover of Rs. 3.248 Arba.

Api Power Company Ltd. (API) had the highest turnover of Rs. 27.56 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 466.90 per share. Its shares were also traded the most.

A total of three scrips technically gained 10% and hit the positive circuit breaker for the day.

On the other side of things, Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) lost the highest 5.5%.

Among the thirteen sector indices, only "Non-Life Insurance" gained 1.09% today. Among others that closed red, "Others" lost the highest 4.36%.
