Fire Ravages Mahottari Furniture Industry, Incurs Losses Exceeding Rs 3.5 Million

A devastating fire erupted at Bharat Furniture, situated in Matihani-8 of the district, last night, resulting in substantial losses estimated at over Rs 3.5 million.

The furniture industry, owned by Dukhmochan Thakur, succumbed to the blaze, which began around 10:00 pm on Monday, as reported by the District Police Office, Mahottari. The inferno engulfed the premises, consuming furniture and other raw materials stored within the establishment.

Fortunately, swift action from teams comprising the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and local residents, aided by a fire engine, facilitated the successful extinguishing of the flames. Despite the collaborative efforts, the extent of the damage inflicted by the fire is currently being assessed, underscoring the significant setback experienced by Bharat Furniture and its proprietor, Dukhmochan Thakur.
