FinMin seeks French assistance in infrastruture

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Shankar Prasad Koirala has urged Ambassador of France to Nepal Martine Bassereau to increase investment in the infrastructure sector. During a meeting held on Monday at the ministry, Koirala also deliberated with the ambassador about strengthening bilateral ties.

Koirala commended the contribution by the Government of France and also asked for a support to establish a school of mountaineering at the base camp of Mt Everest.
Bassereau expressed interest in providing support in urban development, street lamp, solar energy and transportation.

The French ambassador also asked the government to support a team of French investors due to arrive in Kathmandu within two months.
