The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has introduced a new mechanism enabling the public to directly lodge complaints against irregularities and corruption involving its employees. The initiative seeks to curb malpractice in service delivery, including unnecessary delays, undue pressure, and demands for bribes or kickbacks by ministry staff or affiliated bodies.

To facilitate this, the MoF has provided multiple reporting channels. Citizens can write directly to Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal via his personal email, rameshore@mof.gov.np, or use the ministry’s official email, gunaso@mof.gov.np. A hotline service has also been set up at 18105000401 to ensure grievances are registered promptly.

The ministry has designated Under-secretary Niran Bhattarai and Branch Officer Pavitra Gyawali as focal persons to handle complaints. Officials said the measure is expected to strengthen transparency, improve accountability, and rebuild public trust in government financial services.
