Finance Ministry Encourages CIT to Support Strategic National Development

At the 36th anniversary of the Citizen Investment Trust (CIT), Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal emphasized the need for CIT and similar institutions to invest in long-term national projects, including the Budigandaki Hydropower Project. He highlighted measures such as removing double taxation, issuing 15–20 year bonds to enhance liquidity, and promoting public-private partnerships and agricultural investments.
Officials underlined the role of CIT in generating consistent profits, increasing participation, and contributing to Nepal’s economic growth through investments in infrastructure, energy, tourism, and agriculture. Discussions also included improving pension systems, employee benefits, and introducing new investment instruments. The event recognized exemplary employees and security staff who contributed to CIT’s operations, reflecting the organization’s commitment to social and financial development.
