The Ministry of Finance has appointed a new representative to the board of directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), recalling Mahesh Baral from the position and naming Senior Joint Secretary Uttar Khatri as his replacement.
Baral has been reassigned as the head of the Public Financial Management Training Center under the ministry. SEBON, the regulatory authority overseeing Nepal’s capital market, requires a Finance Ministry representative to serve on its board by law. While Khatri has been officially appointed, he has yet to attend any board meetings.
The change comes following the assumption of office by Finance Minister Ramashwar Khanal and reflects the ministry’s broader administrative realignment of key positions.
