Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel Pledges to Consider Investors Recommendations and Take Necessary Actions to Enhance the Stock Market

Bishnu Prasad Paudel, the newly appointed Finance Minister, has pledged to take the necessary steps to enhance the stock market.

During a session with representatives of organizations related to share investors at the Ministry of Finance, the Finance Minister expressed his dedication to improve the stock market. He declared, "I am very concerned about the current status of the capital market, and I will take steps to improve it, taking into account the ideas received from investors." He added, "The government's first aim is to strengthen the nation's economy and bring prosperity to Nepal”.

The discussion with the minister of finance was attended by Tara Prasad Phullel, president of the Nepal Share Investors Association, Tulsi Ram Dhakal, president of the Nepal Investors Forum, Durga Tiwari, secretary general, and other members of the Nepal Share Investors Association.

Investors have sent finance minister Paudel a number of proposals for enhancing the capital market. They have recommended that the weighted average rate be reduced from current 150% to 100%, the ceiling on share mortgage loans of Rs. 12 crores should be immediately lifted, and that banks and other financial institutions be given broker licenses as quickly as feasible.
