Finance Minister Appoints Pitambar Bhandari as Expert Member to SEBON

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has completed the formation of its Board of Directors with the appointment of Pitambar Bhandari as an expert member. The appointment was made by Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal in line with the existing provisions of securities-related legislation.

Bhandari previously served as an Executive Director at Nepal Rastra Bank and has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and financial sector. Over the course of his career at the central bank, he worked across multiple divisions, gaining hands-on exposure in areas including supervision and research. The Finance Minister has appointed Bhandari for a three-year term, effective from Friday.

According to the Securities Act, SEBON’s Board consists of seven members, including the Chairperson, and mandates the inclusion of one expert director. With this appointment, the Board has now met the required legal composition.
