KATHMANDU, OCT 4:

Mobile users of Nepal Telecom (NT) faced a network problem throughout the day on Wednesday after its main optical fibre connection was disconnected.

“The optical fibre connection was disrupted after its main connection at Babarmahal was cut during construction work related to the road widening drive,” said chief of Mobile Service Directorate Surendra Prasad Thike

“The mobile users — GSM users — in several parts of Kathmandu valley including those from Koteshwor and Bhaktapur areas faced network problems due to the technical glitch.”

The mobile service could not be operated in its full capacity after the fibre was

cut and consumers faced problems of traffic congestion and even complete connectivity problem.

The problem, according to him, was fixed in the late evening. Services have become normal now, he added.
