Export related industries should be increased: Minister Thapa

Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa pointed out the need for increasing the number of export related industries in the country to lessen the national trade defecit.

Following an onsite inspection of the dry port at Sirsiya of the district, Minister Thapa said that the government was ready to run the port. The port was the only port linked with Indian Broad-gauge Railway Line.

He further said that the government was preparing to upgrade the port. On the occasion, Minister Thapa visited the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), regional office, Birgunj and directed the NOC employees to control the leakage of petroleum products.

Also present on the occasion were NOC Executive Director Chandi Prasad Bhatta and spokesperson Mukunda Ghimire among others.
