Everest Bank Limited has successfully migrated its entire card portfolio to the EFT Card Switch operated by Nepal Clearing House Limited, marking a major step in strengthening Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem. With this transition, all VISA card issuing, acquiring, and transaction processing of the bank will now operate through NCHL’s shared EFT switch infrastructure.

The upgrade also enables Everest Bank to issue and acquire NEPALPAY Card, improving nationwide acceptance across ATMs, POS terminals, and digital merchant channels, while also expanding access to international Discover card services.

Bank officials said the migration will improve operational resilience, security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Currently, NCHL’s EFT Card Switch platform supports more than 11 banks and processed card transactions worth over Rs 428 billion in settlement value during the last fiscal year. With 132 branches and 167 ATMs nationwide, Everest Bank continues to expand access to modern banking and digital payment services across Nepal.
