The offices of essential service providers will remain open even though the government has declared a public holiday in the wake of the Yeti Air plane crash in Pokhara.

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, except for essential services, it is mentioned that Monday is a public holiday throughout Nepal.

However, the offices that provide services like telecommunication, transportation, shipping, health care, tourism, petroleum transportation, electricity, printing, internal security services, etc. that are on the list of essential services will continue to be open, according to a notification from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On the other hand, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is closed today.

As insurance companies, banks, and financial service providers are also included in the definition of essential services, offices for these organizations are also opened.

An ATR 72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines that flew to Pokhara from Kathmandu crashed in Pokhara of Kaski district on Sunday morning. A total of 68 passengers and four crew members were on board the aircraft that crashed. Among the passengers are three infants, three children, and 62 adults.
