eSewa Expands Digital Health Insurance with Coverage Up to Rs 600,000

eSewa, in partnership with Shikhar Insurance Company, is expanding access to affordable healthcare through Sahara Health Insurance, with premiums starting from Rs 1,399 and combined health and accident coverage of up to Rs 600,000. Available entirely through the eSewa app, the policy can be purchased or renewed digitally within minutes without paperwork.

The insurance offers medical coverage of up to Rs 500,000, accident treatment benefits of up to Rs 100,000, cashless treatment at more than 25 network hospitals, and coverage for nearly 150 daycare procedures. Since its launch in September 2025, more than 10,000 customers have enrolled in the scheme. eSewa said the initiative reflects its commitment to expanding digital financial services and making health insurance more accessible across Nepal.
