Entrepreneurs to add 1,400 buses for Dashain

KATHMANDU, Oct 2:

The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) is bringing into operation 1,400 additional buses to facilitate movement of passengers during Dashain festival.

At present, around 1,100 buses leave the capital city every day for different parts of the country.
Dolnath Khanal, general secretary of FNNTE, said transport entrepreneurs decided to increase the number of buses keeping in view the rising demands for tickets.
Booking for tickets, which started on September 17, had to be closed after a week due to limited number of buses.

Khanal said additional buses will be arranged by different bus operators committee.
“In the first phase, we are adding around 500 buses from Thursday,” Khanal said, adding, “We have asked all the bus operators´ committee to bring into operation all their buses during Dashain and Tihar.”

Similarly, the federation plans to add 800-900 buses in the second phase when number of passengers increases significantly.
According to Khanal, most of the additional buses will be deployed in the eastern region where the demand for tickets is high.

E-ticketing launched

Yeti Deluxe, a passenger bus service, has lunched e-ticketing service for the first time in the country from Tuesday.

Passengers can book tickets for destinations, where the company is operating, by visiting the company´s site - http://www.ticketsewa.com. Payment can be done through eSewa account.
The company is currently operating service to Birtamod, Bhadrapur, Kakarvitta and Budhabare from Kathmandu with eight buses. It plans to add more buses after Tihar.

Sunil Pandey, IT executive of the company, told Republica that around 300 online bookings were made on Tuesday itself.
