Eight candidates vying for the position of Chairman of SEBON; Committee to recommend 3 names

The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON)'s open Chairman's seat has received eight applications for candidacy. The last day for the application was on Friday (Mangsir 20, 2076).

The applicants are:

1. Niraj Giri, current Executive Director of SEBON
2. Dr. Nabaraj Adhikari, current Vice Executive Director of SEBON
3. Bhismaraj Dhungana, current Director of SEBON
4. Sitaram Thapaliya, ex-General Manager of NEPSE
5. Nil Bahadur Saru Magar, ex Expert Director of SEBON
6. Narendra Sijapati, Broker
7. Dr. Keshav Prasad Shrestha
8. Dr. Balram Pathak, ex-Director of Rastriya Beema Company
9. All the applicants have submitted their plans for SEBON

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has formed a committee for nominating the Chairman for SEBON. The committee will be recommending three names from the list of above eight, out of which one will be appointed as the Chairman of Board.

The committee is under the Co-ordination of Ram Kumar Phuyal, a member of the National Planning Committee. Similarly, the members are, Sishir Dhungana, Treasury Secretary of MoF and CA Krishna Acharya, Chairman of ICAN.
