EC to Hold Consultative Meeting with Parties on March 2026 HoR Elections

The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled a consultative meeting with political parties on October 16 to deliberate on the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections set for March 5, 2026.

Election Commissioner Dr. Janaki Kumari Tuladhar informed that formal invitations have been dispatched to the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party, among others. The EC has also invited parties that were represented in the dissolved HoR and those that secured at least one ward member in the last local elections.

Although the EC made public a tentative election schedule on October 6, it clarified that the calendar was for internal preparation purposes. The final schedule will be finalized after receiving feedback from the participating political parties during the consultation.
