DRI raids all 12 Worldlink offices

KATHMANDU, DEC 20 -

The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) on Wednesday raided Worldlink, a leading internet service provider. The DRI Deputy Director General Rajendra Sharma said that the raids had been carried out in all 12 of the company’s offices in Biratnagar, Lahan, Janakpur, Hetauda, Birgunj, Pokhara, Dhangadi, Nepalgunj and main office at Lalitpur.

“The raid was conducted in suspicion of the company distributing the bandwidth illegally, tax evasion and opening of branch office without government’s permission,” said Sharma. The department has summoned the company on Friday and Sunday for further investigation. The department also raided Loyal Computer and Narayani Infosis of New Road in suspicion of tax evasion.
