Downfall continues in NEPSE; loses 8.23 points

Analogous to previous trading day, the benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) tumbled 8.23 points or 0.93 percent to close at 877.21 level than yesterday’s 885.44 mark index.
Currently, market is responding to the political scenario of the country as the dispute among the major political parties has deteriorated the confidence level of the investors in the country.
Also the selling pressure among the investors for the interest payment of the second quarter has led the local bourse roll further down.
However the total turnover has surged more than Rs 13 million than yesterday’s total of Rs 147.23 million to stand at Rs 160.28 million. Altogether 356,056 unit shares of 126 companies were traded through 2,001 transactions worth Rs 160.28 million.

Each sub-index landed in red today. Banking plunged 6.32 points or 0.81 percent to close at 771.50 level, responding to downfall in share price of Nepal Credit And Com. Bank by Rs 27, Everest Bank by Rs 25 and Nabil Bank by Rs 36.
Development and Finance decreased by 4.58 points and 3.49 points respectively amid the decline in share price of Rural Microfinance by Rs 34 and Citizen Investment Trust by Rs 58.
Drop in share price of Chilime Hydro by Rs 30 and Soaltee Hotel by Rs 9 led the HydroPower and Hotels sector dip by double digit of 38.06 points and 29.33 points respectively.
Insurance slumped maximum among the sub-sectors amounting 57.25 points mainly due to Life Insurance Co. Nepal whose share price went down by Rs 175.
Manufacturing and Others went down by 17.48 points and 1.17 point where the price of Unilever Nepal‘s shares grounded by Rs 350 and NTC’s shares by meager Rs 1.
The share price of companies like Nepal Community Development, Cosmos Development, Life Insurance Co., Rural Microfinance and Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank dived maximum today.
On the contrary, Paschimanchal Bikas Bank, Civic Development, Nagbeli Laghubitta, Union Finance and kailash Bikas Bank stood among the top gainers of the day.
