Despite decrease in sales Shivam cement able to increase net profit in Q2; Look at the major highlights

Shivam Cement Limited (SHIVM) has published its second-quarter report of fiscal year 2077/2078 with an increase in net profit by 16.13%. The Net Profit of the company increased to Rs. 58.96 crores in Q2, 2077/2078 from Rs. 50.77 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The revenue from operation (core business revenue) of the company has decreased by 9.36% in the second quarter which stood at Rs. 4.25 Arba from 4.69 Arba from the corresponding quarter of the previous year. However, the company has been able to manage its operating expenses which has given them the edge to retain more of its profits.

As per the second-quarter report published today, the company has an investment in subsidiaries of Rs. 3.66 Arba and the company borrowings increased to Rs. 94.02 crores. The current ratio is 1.34X which is less than the minimum requirement.

The paid-up capital of the company remained at Rs. 4.40 Arba with 4.56 Arba in reserve and surplus. The reserve and surplus of the company increased by 4.46% in this quarter.

The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs. 26.80 and net worth per share at Rs. 203.83. The company traded at a P/E multiple of 61.93 times.
