Department of Transport Management Launches Fully Online Driving Licence Application and Renewal System

The Department of Transport Management has made the driving licence application and renewal process fully online. As per a department notice, service seekers can complete the entire process  from application to revenue payment online starting Friday.

Under the new system, applicants can scan their details via the QR scanner on their national identity card or the Nagarik App, after which the form will be filled automatically. The department says this will make the application process simpler, faster and error-free. Licence-related revenue payments can also be made online. Those unable to complete the process via QR scan can continue to apply through the existing procedure.

The department said the new system will reduce the need for office visits, enhance transparency in service delivery, and support the expansion of digital government services.
