Delayed budget root cause of economic ills
Chitwan, June 14 :
The delayed budget has created serious problems in the economy, blamed Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry president Suraj Vaidya speaking at a special general meeting in Narayangarh today.
The timely and investment-friendly budget could solve many problems, he said at the meeting that discussed on agriculture, tourism and development sectors.
“The government should be ready to work with the private sectors to resolve crisis,” he said, asking for immediate amendments in some of the government policies.
Vaidya, on the occasion, also accused Ministry of Transport Management and Labour of not being serious towards maintaining healthy industrial relations.
According to FNCCI Chitwan chapter president Uttamlal Chuke, the special meeting will discuss on measures to be adopted for increasing the agricultural output, and reasons behind the failure of tourism.
Stressing on need of cooperation between the government and private sectors in all development projects, the umbrella organisation of private sector’s special meeting will advice the government on checking rising insecurity in the industrial sector and attract foreign investment.
The meeting — which will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal tomorrow — will also issue Chitwan Declaration.
