The Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has successfully disbursed due payments totaling Rs 480 million to farmers within a span of 13 days, attributing the accelerated payment schedule to a surge in milk product sales during the month of Baisakh.

Acting General Manager of the Corporation, Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, informed the Republica News Service (RSS) that the rise in sales of milk products, including milk, curd, paneer, mohi, lassi, and ice cream, with the advent of the summer season facilitated the prompt settlement of farmers' dues. Adhikari noted a notable 50% increase in milk product sales during the summer months, resulting in enhanced cash flow and the gradual alleviation of farmers' payment backlog.

The distribution of payments saw Rs 100 million disbursed in Biratnagar, Rs 10 million in Janakpur, Rs 80 million in Hetauda, Rs 42.5 million in Lumbini, Rs 27.5 million in Nepalgunj, Rs 15 million in Dhangadhi, and Rs 130 million in the Kathmandu region, as per sources familiar with the matter.
