Daily Summary: The Trading Screen Is as Red as It Can Get; NEPSE Loses Massive 75.79 Points While All Sectors Close Lower

But investors rarely get convinced by stock market quotes. When the real trading screen is open, when real money is on the line, emotion always takes over. This is why most investing failures are a result of poorly handled investor psychology rather than a defective investment strategy. The NEPSE index lost a massive 75.79 points and closed at 2,572.22 today. The index opened at 2,664.69 and only slid down after that. Intraday volatility of 100.26 points was seen today with the highest point being the market-open itself and the lowest being 2,564.43.

14,690,720 shares traded hands via 1,04,040 transactions. The trading of 215 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 7.28 Arba, which is higher than last Thursday's turnover of Rs. 5.91 Arba.

While the float index lost 5.31 points and closed at 177.72, the Sensitive index is at 464.05 after losing 12.56 points.

Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 39.52 crores. Its shares also traded the most.

Kumari Bank Limited Promotor Share (KBLPO) gained the most 14% today. Although the general scrips have a 10% circuit breaker for a single day, promoter shares have no such restriction. Meanwhile, Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBSL) and Bishal Bazar Company Limited (BBC) have hit the 10% positive circuit breakers for the day.

On the other side of things, Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) has lost the most 8.43%.

All the sectors lost today, with the Hotels and Tourism sector that lost the most 6.14%.
