Daily Summary: NEPSE Loses Minimal 2.66 Points and Closes at 2,518.99, Intraday Turnover Declines to Rs. 3.125 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 2,518.99 today after losing a minimal 2.66 points from yesterday's closing. This is a loss of 0.11% on the index. The index had lost 69.77 points yesterday.
230 scrips traded hands via 42,058 transactions. The Float index is at 172.76 after losing 0.19% while the Sensitive index lost 0.19% and is now at 470.98.
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 26.39 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 6,918 per share. The shares of Joshi Hydropower Development Company Limited (JOSHI) traded the most.
Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company Limited (MBJC) gained 10%, hence hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) lost the highest 9.99%.
Six sector indices gained and seven others closed red. "Manu.& Pro." gained the highest 2.07%, and "Microfinance" lost the most 0.54%.
Technical Analysis Highlight
The index opened at 2,523.86 and created the intraday low at 2,487.54. It then went as high as 2,532.78, before closing at 2,518.99. This has led to the formation of a small body red candle. The Bearish Engulfing pattern had formed yesterday, hence indicating a probability of downwards momentum.
Furthermore, a total of 5,828,783 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.125 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 5.607 Arba.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 48.68. The reading was at 48.89 yesterday. The RSI breaking above 50 would indicate intermediate-term upwards momentum.
Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are still negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -38.50. This reading was at -44.31 yesterday. The MACD line has crossed over the signal line last week, indicating a mild bullish sentiment. However, the crossover would have been more significant if the MACD reading was positive.
