Daily Summary: NEPSE Takes Another Double-Digit Hit; Q3 Report Hurts Gaining Streak of Chandragiri Hills

The NEPSE index lost 37.58 points and closed at 2,661.93. The index opened at 2,715.83 and only lost thereafter. Thus, the market-open itself is the intraday-high. Meanwhile, the index has closed very near the intraday-low at 2,656.61.
14,200,768 shares traded hands via 73,582 transactions. The trading of 213 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 6.76 Arba.

While the float index lost 2.5 points and closed at 184.14, the Sensitive index is at 479.10 after losing 7.06 points.
Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 28.34 crores. Interestingly, this is a quite lower amount for the scrip with the highest turnover. The units of NMB50 traded the most today.

The two highest gainers have technically hit the 10% positive circuit today, one of which is JLI, an IPO rookie. Meanwhile, Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) took a major hit and lost the most today, hitting the 10% negative circuit breaker. The tourism company has published a quarterly report for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2077/78. The company reported a Net Loss of Rs. 18.12 crores in this quarter. Its revenue from the operation has decreased to Rs 17.42 crore till the third quarter of the fiscal year 2076/77 from Rs 41.22 crores of the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The revenue declined by 57.74% in this quarter.


Hydropower and Finance are the only two sectors that gained today, with Finance gaining higher between the two. Among all sectors that lost, Hotels and Tourism lost the most 6.17%, a loss that can again be boiled down to the loss suffered by CGH today.
