Daily Market Summary: NEPSE Settles Today's Session With Minimal 5.84 Points Loss, Sector Indices Also Close Indecisively

The NEPSE index closed at 2,449.97 today after losing 5.84 points from yesterday's closing. This is a loss of 0.24% on the index. The index had lost 53.10 points yesterday.

231 scrips traded hands via 41,389 transactions. The Float index is at 168.17 after losing 0.28% while the Sensitive index gained 0.09% and is now at 465.23.

Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 8.85 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 5,689.90 per share. The units of Kumari Bank Limited Promotor Share (KBLPO) traded the most.

Synergy Power Development Limited (SPDL) is the highest gainer but it only gained 4.55% today. Meanwhile, Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) lost the most 5.82%. It was also the biggest loser yesterday with an 8.54% loss.

All sectors indices have fluctuated in decimal point percentages today. Hotels And Tourism gained the most 0.64% and Trading lost the most 0.76%.

Technical Analysis Highlights

The index opened at 2,454.41 and created the intraday low at 2,428.84. It then went as high as 2,464.70 and closed at 2,449.97. Thus, the index was indecisive at best today.

A total of 6,223,721 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 2.673 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 2.663 Arba. While volume has been changing inconsistently, the trend from October 31 signals a gradual decline.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 27.42. The reading was at 27.77 yesterday. The RSI crossing below the "30" level indicates oversold conditions. Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -68.77. This reading was at -62.1 yesterday. The MACD line is below the signal line, and both are negative, hence indicating a general pessimism in the market.
