Curfew Extended in Kathmandu: Baneshwor, Narayanhiti, Shital Niwas, and Singha Durbar on Bhadra 23 from 12:30 PM to 10 PM

The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has announced a temporary curfew in multiple areas of the capital to maintain public order. The order, issued under Section 6(k) of the Local Administration Act, 2028, restricts public movement and gatherings.

The curfew will be in effect from 12:30 PM to 10:00 PM on Bhadra 23, 2082, prohibiting rallies, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings, or protests within the designated zones.

Curfew areas include:

  1. Baneshwor:

    • West: Baneshwor Chowk to Everest Hotel and Bijulibazar Bridge

    • East: Baneshwor Chowk through Min Bhawan and Shantinagar to Tinkune Chowk

    • North: Baneshwor Chowk via Iplex Mall to Ratna Rajya Secondary School

    • South: Baneshwor Chowk down Sankhamul slope to Sankhamul Bridge

  2. Shital Niwas (President’s Office), Maharajgunj:

    • North to East: Up to National Police Training Academy

    • South: From Samakhusi turn to 100 meters south

    • Southeast: From Samakhusi turn to Samakhusi Khola

  3.  Office of the Vice President of Nepal (Harit Griha), Lainchaur:

    • From Kesharmahal Chowk via Lainchaur to Malla Hotel boundaries

  4. Narayanhiti Palace Museum:

    • From Kesharmahal Chowk to Narayanhiti Palace Museum south gate and Jai Nepal Hall

    • From Narayanhiti Palace Museum south gate to Mahendra Salik

  5. Singha Durbar:

    • From Bhadrakali Temple corner (Tinkune Island) to Singha Durbar main gate

    • From Singha Durbar main gate north to Padmodaya School turn

    • From Padmodaya turn east past Auditor General’s Office to Anamnagar

    • Northeast stretch from Singha Durbar to Hanumansthan Temple

    • From Singha Durbar main gate south to Supreme Court and Department of Archaeology premises
