Correction in Nepse

After a more than 10 points incline in the past two trading days, the Nepal Stock Exchange today made a correction by 1.33 or 0.31% point. The market started in a declining mode but after half hour of trade, it slowly picked up its pace above opening level. Till the 10 minutes before the closing, the local bourse was hovering above the opening level between 428 to 429 level but the fall in the scrip of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) from Rs 663 to Rs 650 through last 3 transaction, dragged the Nepse to today’s closing level.
With the NTC decline, the Others sectors also tumbled by 16.45 points. As for Hydro sector which has also been crucial in current Nepse rise, today fell by 18.61 points. The sector decline as three of the scrips traded under it i.e. Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), Butwal Power Co. Ltd.(BPCL) and Chilime Hydro Power Co. (CHCL) came down by Rs 15, Rs 20 and Rs 16 respectively. Though all of these scrips decreased, its recent surge in the price level in the past couple of days has helped to create a favorable movement among the other blue chip scrips.
As for other sector, the rise in the price of Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI), Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), Himalayan Bank Ltd.(HBL) and Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd(MBL) mainly helped the Banking sector to grow by 2.61 points. Likewise, Development and Finance sector also added 1.09 and 0.94 points respectively. Under the Development sector today, Kailash Bikash Bank Ltd (KBBL) proposed 12% cash dividend but the news couldn’t create positive impact as the price of the scrip remain intact at Rs 153.Similarly under Finance, Nepal Express Finance Ltd. (NEFL) proposed 14% bonus share, its price also remain intact at Rs 114.Also, the transaction of Shree Ram Sugar Mills Ltd (SRS) was resumed after its renewal fee was received. The relisting of SRS will surely help to boost the Manufacturing sector whose movement is mainly dependent upon the Uniliver Nepal Ltd.
The decline in Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. by Rs 20 along with other 7 scrips pushed the Insurance sector down by 2.75 points. Whereas, the Hotel sector today remain intact at 544.64 points as both Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) and Taragaon Regency Hotel (TRH) remain intact in their respective price level.
Overall there were 103 scrips traded among which 39 scrips increased, 20 remain intact and 44 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Sahayogi Vikas Bank (SBBLJ),closed at Rs 227, with Rs 20 or 9.66%. Whereas, NABIL Bank Limited Promotor Share (NABILP), closed at Rs 753, was the Top Loser with Rs 169 or 18.33%.Among the stocks trading above par value, Garima Bikas Bank Ltd.(GBBL), closed at Rs 160, was the Top Loser with Rs 21 or 11.60%.
In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Citizens Bank International Limited Promoter Share (CZBILP) , closed at Rs 100, topped with 116,277 units worth Rs 11,627,700. In case of share trading above par, KIST Bank Limited (KIST), closed at Rs 113, had the highest share traded totaling 40,350 units. As for turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1132, topped with 4,169 units worth Rs 4,727,156 via 37 transactions; in which Broker no 5 (Market Securities Exchange Company Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 30.39% stand alone dealing of EBL, totaling 1,267 units worth Rs 1,436,778 via 7 transactions.
The total turnover today was 71,269,980 which is comparatively Rs 23,817,585 or 27.37% lower than prior trading session. Overall 349,207 units of shares were traded via 1,249 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 403,944.06 Millions.
