Correction in NEPSE

After the seven trading days of continuing rally, the Nepal Stock Exchange today came down by 3.45 points. From 11th October till yesterday, the benchmark index had an incredible surge of 27 points. So its inevitable for the index to make a correction as the investors’ will book their profit in the high levels. This was seen in the today’s market, the investors’ booked their profit in the scrips like CHCL, NTC, NLIC, SCB, BOK, EBL, LICN which has been the forerunner in the recent rally of the Nepse. The impact of this came in the Nepse level as the benchmark index came to close at 447.98 levels.
Among the sub-indices, Hotels and Finance were the only two sectors which added points today. Hotels went up by 0.38 points whereas Finance climbed by 0.32 points. The jump in Hotel sector was mainly due to the increase in the scrip of Oriental Hotel Ltd. In case of Finance sector, the increment in the level of Kaski Finance Limited (KAFIL) by Rs 11 mainly helps the sector to float in green pasture.
As for other remaining sectoral indices, Other sector came down the most as it plummeted by 11.74 points. Whereas, the fall in the Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) and Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC) by Rs 20 and Rs 10 dragged the Insurance sector by 3.82 points. Likewise, Banking, Development and Hydro also backtracked by 2.94, 1.09 points and 0.25 points respectively.
Overall there were 82 scrips traded among which 27 scrips increased, 14 remain intact and 41 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Kaski Finance Limited (KAFIL), closed at Rs 122, with Rs 11 or 9.91%. Whereas, H & B Development Bank Limted (HBDL), closed at Rs 115, with Rs 12 or 9.45% loss was the Top Loser of the day. In terms of highest share traded, NMB Bank Ltd. (NMB) , closed at Rs 194, topped with 23,435 units.
In case of turnover, Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), closed at Rs 662, topped with 7,445 units worth Rs 4,962,730 via 29 transactions; in which Broker no 16 (Primo Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 43.88% stand alone dealing of NTC, tallying 3,245 units worth Rs 2,177,890 via 8 transactions which includes 6 matching transactions totaling 2,860 units worth Rs 1,919,390.
The total turnover today was Rs 55,379,610 which is comparatively Rs 2,969,339 or 5.09% lower than prior trading session. Overall 201,018 units of shares were traded via 1,159 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 424,219.82 Millions.
