CORRECTION IN NEPSE

After witnessing surge in the last two trading days of the prior week, the investors today opted to capitalize on their gain which dragged the market by 7.57 points. At the end of the day, the market settled at 779.79 levels.

Following the gain in most of traded scrips in the last two trading days, most of the investors booked their profit today which attributed to drop in the overall market.

Insurance observed the highest plunge as it tumbled by 71.19 points. Similarly, Hotels, Hydro and Others also suffered a double digit drop of 28.46, 17.91 and 11.75 points.

Alongside above sectors, Banking and Financial Institutions related sub-indices i.e. Banking, Development and Finance also declined by 6.11, 0.47 and 0.21 points respectively.

Altogether there were trade of 108 scrips, among which 35 scrips gained, 11 scrips remained intact and 62 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Gandaki Bikas Bank Limited (GDBL), closed at Rs 201, with a gain of Rs 18 or 9.84 percent. Whereas, Prudential Insurance Co. (PICL) , closed at Rs 275, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 181 or 39.69 percent.

The scrips with the highest turnover in today’s trade was Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd.  (NBB), closed at Rs 659, with trading of 55,928 units worth Rs 37,060,855 via only 110 transactions.

The Broker with the highest transaction of NBB was Broker no 45 (Imperial Securities Co .Pvt. Limited) with 8.15.66% standalone dealing of the NBB, tallying 17,543 units worth Rs 11,609,940 via 27 transactions which includes one matching transaction of 1,000 units worth Rs 660,000.

The total market turnover today tallied at Rs 402,813,877, totaling 991,476 units of share which were traded through 3,138 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 792,442.23 Millions.
