Correction in gold‚ silver
KATHMANDU, May 7:
Gold and silver prices retreated in the domestic market as both the precious metals started cooling down after the US dollar started to strengthen. The price of gold reached Rs 43,100 for a tola (11.664 grams) at the beginning of the week but dropped to Rs 41,700 a tola as the week closed with a fall of Rs 1,400 a tola.
Silver also could not continue its rally with the result that the domestic market saw silver price dropping from Rs 1,350 a tola to Rs 971 a tola by the end of the week. The exchange rate for a US dollar in terms of Nepali rupee has strengthened this week from Rs 70.65 to Rs 71.21.
