Construction of Daramkhola hydroelectricity project begins

BAGLUNG, DEC 19:

Construction of the Daramkhola 'A' hydropower project here has begun. The project is going to be constructed with the investment by the non-resident Nepalis.

The contract of constructing the hydropower project with a capacity of generating 25,000 kilowatt of electricity has been awarded to the Sayapatri Hydropower Pvt Ltd.

Construction of physical infrastructures of the project is underway, said project chief Engineer Bikash Shrestha. Rs. 460 million has been allocated for the construction of the project which is expected to be completed within the next two years.

The Nepali technology and human resources will be mobilized for the construction, the company said. Electricity to be generated from the project will be connected to the central transmission line. Baglung would get rid of power outage with the completion of the project.
