Consensus by Monday, says Dahal after meeting Prez

KATHMANDU, DEC 16 -

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal met with President Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday morning and expressed his confidence that the parties would reach a consensus by Monday.

Speaking to media persons after emerging from the meeting, Dahal said that the talks with the political parties were moving ahead on a positive note. "I have understood that the four major parties are closing to an agreement. We will finalise the deals by Monday," he said, adding, "The nation is now heading to a path of consensus ."

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar also met with the president this morning. However, Gachhadar did not speak with journalists after the meeting.
