Coca-Cola Invites people To Connect Over Meals; launches fifth edition of Coca-Cola Momoutsav campaign

Coca-Cola in Nepal, one of the country’s leading beverage company, has unveiled a new TV commercial for its recently announced 5th Coca-Cola Momoutsav campaign. This year, Momoutsav is going beyond momos, extending to all varieties of Nepalese food. The campaign comes with the tagline, “Khana Je Hola, Swad Badhauna Coca-Cola” which means no matter what the food maybe; Coca-Cola enhances the taste and turns any moment into a celebration.
The TVC stars celebrities including actresses Samragyee RL Shah and Alisha Rai, singers Kengal Shrestha, Jay Author and Aizen. The TVC begins with Samragyee entering a restaurant and orders a Coke and Momo (using the Coke and Momo gesture) upon joining her friends. Her friends (Alisha Rai, Kengal Shrestha, Jay Author and Aizen) are lost in their phones and not interacting with each other. Everyone’s momo arrives but Samragyee’s arrives with a chilled bottle of Coke. Everyone starts eating their momos but with eyes still glued on their mobile phones. Then the bottle of Coke for Samragyee is popped open, the sound of which grabs full attention of her friends and finally their eyes lift from their phones. Tempted, the rest of her friends now order Coke for themselves. Now, everyone is enjoying their meals with Coke and actually enjoying the company of each other. When the bill arrives, everyone jokingly acts to sink back into their phones as to avoid the bill. Right then they peek into Samragyee and laugh at the silliness.
The TVC attempts to connect Coke consumers with their friends and family during meal times. It sets to inspire Nepalese to grab a Coke and turn ordinary food into a joyous meal and occasion shared with loved ones.
Commenting on the campaign, Mr. Ambuj Singh, Country director of Coca-Cola Nepal said, “Our new campaign Khana Je Hola, Swad Badhauna Coca-Cola puts our consumers at heart, understanding the value of food in Nepalese culture. The new TVC goes beyond just eating food and turning it a meal and a joyous moment with loved ones. It aims to inspire everyone to come together and spark fun filled conversations with others”
