CNI discusses investment, technology transfer

KATHMANDU, MAY 14:

The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) organised a Public Private Dialogue (PPD) in five development regions of the country on draft foreign investment and technology transfer law.

USAID-NEAT has helped draft a Foreign Investment and technology Transfer Act that has been discussed with the private sector stakeholders.

The Confederation of Nepalese Industries has concluded three consultations with the government officers, entrepreneurs and experts in Nepalgunj, Butwal and Hetauda.

The dialogue will be held in Biratnagar and Kathmandu also.

Local private sector organisations — Confederation of Nepalese Industries Nepalgunj chapter, Rupandehi Industries

Association and Hetauda Industries Association — jointly hosted Public Private Dialogue in their respective districts.

CNI vice president Hari Bhakta Sharma and Satish Kumar More facilitated the dialogues, while under secretary at the Ministry of Industry briefed the participants about the government preparations.

Former secretary duo Udaya Nepali and Niranjan Badal helped draft the law — to build better environment of foreign investment in the country — for public discussion.
