Civil signs agreement

KATHMANDU:
Civil Bank and Blueberry Hill Charitable Trust, an international NGO based in Nepal, has signed an MoU to provide financial services/access to smallholder farmers and small enterprises of rural districts of Nepal directly as well as through local cooperatives. The agreement was signed by Kishore Maharjan, CEO of Civil Bank and Arun Rana, CEO of Samriddha Pahad, on behalf of Blueberry Hill Charitable Trust. Blueberry Hill Charitable Trust has been working for improving the livelihoods of the hill and mountain people of Nepal through access to trainings, capacity building and establishment of linkages for financial services in rural areas. With this agreement, Civil Bank will collaborate with the Trust to provide financial access/services to potential micro customers directly or provide wholesale micro credit facilities indirectly through local cooperatives whereas Blueberry Hill will work on trainings, capacity building, identifying and prescreening of potential cooperatives and provide local knowledge and assistance to the bank.
